ROCK INDIANA Rally against Eric Miller & SRJ7 - The Hate Debate 11:30am - 1:00pm Indiana Statehouse East Steps

Be sure to check out for the latest articles on ROCK INDIANA developments too. We simply can't let bigots like Eric Miller control our state!

The Indiana Senate is supposed to vote on SRJ7 tomorrow. It is expected to pass with bipartisan support. Both Democrats and Republicans in Indiana are conservative assholes and are expected to support the bill. The Indiana Democrats don't want to be beat with the "They LIKE gays" brush again, so they're willing to sell us out as a community. The Indiana Republican party seems to have fallen into the hands of religious extremists this year. Only Gov. Mitch Daniels seems above the fray; during a gubernatorial debate he even said that gay couples should have some of the same rights as straight couples. (I wonder which ones we're not deserving of?) But is he saying that now? Hell no. My Man Mitch is suddenly not my man - he's someone else's.

Remember, The Ku Klux Klan used to be huge in Indiana. The Klan in Indiana completely took control of the statehouse in the early 20s by way of the Republican Party, with general acquiescence all the way around. The Klan fell from power when the Grand Dragon was convicted of murder and took down the Governor, the mayor of Indianapolis, and the chair of the Marion County Republican Party. This shameful period of Indiana history should never be repeated, and yet, it seems, Hoosier politicians have yet to learn this lesson.

The ROCK INDIANA silent protest outside of the statehouse reminds me of a KKK standoff that happened here a few years ago. The Klan came to town and the citizens rallied against them. Let's send these modern-day homophobic religious extremists packing too...
