There are a number of organizations and entities acting in service to the community, all fulfilling important missions in their respective niches. I encourage everyone to get involved with one or another of these organizations. And I encourage every organization to coordinate actions with sister service organizations to achieve the purpose that all share. (I believe the Indiana Equality Coalition is not the only means of coordination, but that it is the most effective means of coordination.) Putting a plug in for the Rainbow Chamber, the mission of the Chamber is to serve its business members, provide a say in economic development efforts, and coordinate the role of the business community as a segment of the greater glbt community's efforts to achieve justice in Indiana. Whether an interest exists in the business component or the civil rights component, I encourage members of the business community, whether employer or employee, to contact me offline who have an interest in participating in the Chamber's pursuit of its mission. The Chamber is a member organization of the Indiana Equality Coalition, and membership in the Chamber is one avenue of coordinated contribution to the glbt community.
