Did I just miss something?

Arianna Huffington has a thought inspiring post about the fillibuster compromise. Someone remind me again, please - what did the Democrats get out of the deal? Pricilla Owen (*hack* *gag*) was confirmed today. Looks like Bolten's going through without anymore delay too. Aren't these the nominations they wanted to stop? Are any of them going to be stopped? No? Not one? Cuz, that sounds a lot more like "We just said to hell with it and quit; they win" to me than "We got something and we gave something."

The reality is that we were getting Owens no matter what. Filibuster or no, she was going to get the job; that was written in the cards in November. Maybe we didn't get anything tangible out of the compromise, but Frist was really pissed off about it, and that makes me happy, at least.I really believe that Frist and other extremists aren't going to dare go after the filibuster now, which is what was really at stake, not the judges.
