Hey Everyone, if you haven't made it out to the REEL GENDER film series yet, it's really worth it! Very casual and welcoming atmosphere. The films are shown in the Music Room at UUI near the Butler University campus in central Indianapolis. This documentary is particularly good as it gives a broad overview of issues transgender people face through a series of interviews with transmen who are not afraid to talk about just about anything and everything you've ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask about being trans. Below is the full announcement from INTRAA. Come on out this Friday...

The INTRAA Transgender Film Series REEL GENDER continues on Friday, August 5th with an encore presentation of the documentary film You Don't Know Dick: Courageous Hearts of Transsexual Men, profiling the experiences of a diverse range of female-to-male transsexuals, including an artist, two writers, a San Francisco police officer, and Loren Cameron, author of Body Alchemy: Transsexual Portraits, a photographic documentation of the journey from female to male. Through their explorations and the experiences of their partners, friends and family comes a profound story of self-discovery that challenges all of us to re-examine the foundations of our own identities. These men have embarked upon an enormous struggle to recover their dignity and an identity denied.

Please join us in the Cottage on the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity for discussion afterward.

Admission to the movies is FREE!

REEL GENDER is co-sponsored by Interweave, the LGBT group at UUI.
