On November 8 Indiana Stonewall Democrats hosted "Tuesday with Jackie - A Tribute", honoring Indianapolis City-County Councilor Jackie Nytes, at the home of Jeff Barnett and Doug Meagher. ISD President Ellen Anderson presented Jackie with "The Frank and Judy O'Bannon Equality Award" for her contribution to the LGBT community and her fight for civil rights for all. All contributions collected at the event went to Councilor Nytes in appreciation of her ongoing support of the LGBT community in Indianapolis.

Both Jackie and Councilor Scott Keller were recognized and applauded for their tireless efforts in gaining support for the re-introduction of the previously defeated amendment to the Marion County Human Rights Ordinance. The amendment would provide protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Jackie went on to present an award on behalf of ISD to Indiana Equality Region 8. Region 8, a coalition of civil rights groups in Marion County and surrounding counties, advocates for equal protection under the law for all LGBT people. "The Chuck Avery Leadership Award" was accepted by Region 8 Chair Bil Browning and vice-chair Marcia Neff on behalf of the coalition members, who include Indiana Action Network (IAN), Greater Indianapolis Fairness Alliance (GIFA), Stop the Amendment, Interfaith Coalition on Non-discrimination (ICON), Indy Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), Indiana Youth Group (IYG), Indiana Transgender Advocacy Alliance (INTRAA), Indy Rainbow Chamber of Commerce (IRCC), Advance Indiana, Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Indiana Black Pride (IBP), National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and

The Indiana Stonewall Democrats are committed to improving the record of the Indiana Democratic Party and educating voters about the vast difference that exists between the two major parties on issues of importance to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities.
