A little tidbit from Matthew Tulley's Star column today:

Now that state Sen. J. Murray Clark, R-Indianapolis, has resigned, talk is turning to his replacement. GOP leaders say City-County Councilman Isaac "Ike" Randolph of Pike Township has emerged as the front-runner. He formally declared his interest in a news release Tuesday.

There are other possible candidates, though, including Wayne Township Trustee Dan Gammon, insurance agent Pat Downey and Mike Delph, a former aide to U.S. Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind.

Precinct leaders have until Dec. 15 to pick a replacement. And while Gov. Mitch Daniels isn't publicly endorsing anyone, through a spokeswoman he tellingly called Randolph "a terrific public servant."

Just for the record...I never got the call that I was being considered for the position. I'm sure it was just an oversight.

I am one of several bloggers over at the regional group progressive blog, SoapBlox/Chicago. We could really use someone over there to keep us abreast of what's going on in Indiana, espcecially, of course, N. Indiana. But really the whole state.

For instance we're getting submissions from Barry Welsh who is running in your 6th CD. So do people in IN have strong opinions about him or is he unknown in your neck of the political woods as well.

Since you are on Lefty Blogs we would extend to you front page blogger status.
