From Emily's List:

... Meanwhile, nationally respected child safety advocate Patty Wetterling is working hard to take over Minnesota's sixth congressional district seat that GOP Rep. Mark Kennedy is vacating to run for the Senate.

Wetterling is facing the epitome of a far-right social conservative in GOP candidate Michele Bachmann. Bachmann got into politics to ban abortion and she's led the effort to ban gay marriage in Minnesota.

National Republicans are so desperate to hold onto power that they've already embarked on an eight week campaign costing over $125,000 to slam Wetterling with false attacks. They plan on spending millions more and have sent House Speaker Dennis Hastert, White House advisor Karl Rove, and Vice President Dick Cheney [and Shrub himself] to headline fundraisers for Bachmann.

Wetterling can win this seat for Democrats, but she needs the support from EMILY's List members like you today to have the resources buy air time, withstand the GOP attacks, and beat Bachmann.

Click here today to help Patty Wetterling gain this key House seat!

We are coming down to the wire, with only 43 days left before election day.

Patty is the perfect candidate for her district and, with enough money to plaster ads all over local TV, her constituents will have the chance they need to figure it out, just as the district's First Responders have.

While you're at it, check out the campaign of fellow Minnesotan, Colleen Rowley, the FBI agent who tried so desperately to alert the Bush administration to the fact that Moussaoui wanted to learn to fly passenger jets but not learn to land them. She's a true friend of the rights of gay people everywhere.
