Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO), author of the Federal Marriage Amendment, has no shame about being a single-minded hate machine at the expense of her district. In a press release this week, her opponent, State Rep. Angie Paccione, does not mince words in exposing Musgrave's unabashed statements to a gathering of fellow AmTaliban for the loathesome bigotry they are.

In "Musgrave Declares 'Cultural War' Against Minorities; Marilyn Musgrave ignores her job in Congress, says gay marriage is 'the most important issue we face today.' ", Paccione's campaign states that "Musgrave 'can't have it both ways,' and that she needs to decide between representing the people in her district or catering to rightwing extremists. Paccione added that Musgrave has long been 'on the wrong side of the fence, possibly even on the wrong planet.' "

By the way, Paccione is just a few thousand dollars short of her fundraising goal for this quarter. Making that goal would send a strong message to Musgrave and, just as importantly, other politicians contemplating jumping on the 'gay marriage as wedge issue' bandwagon that that's a no-win proposition.
