A short time ago, put out a call for donations to the Russell Brown for State Senate campaign. We raised $50 for Russell's campaign, mostly through small donations of $5.

I'd like to share the thank you letter we received from Russell today on behalf of readers.

Dear Bil & Jerame (on behalf of readers):

"As a State never lose sight of the community that elected you to serve. You continue to live there and continue to represent the values of reaching out to others for ideas, of building consensus, of working for common goals. You never fall into the trap of believing that you can shut out you natural allies along the way. In short, you live the life of a Democrat." - Sen. Frank O'Bannon (D-Corydon) 1988.

Thank you for you generous contribution to my campaign collected from the readers of As Election Day 2006 draws ever closer, I have been humbled by the generous support of you: my friends, family, fellow Democrats, Hoosiers, and natural allies. I have also become more and more confident that this campaign has provided me an opportunity to further learn the invaluable role played by elected officials in our community and the important responsibilities I would take on in this role.

I pledge that your contribution will be used to give me the best opportunity to be successful on November 7. My campaign has a plan for success and your contribution will help me to be elected to the State Senate and put the ideals learned throughout my time in public service under the late Governor Frank O'Bannon and on the campaign trail to use in the Indiana State Senate.

Thank you for your generosity and your friendship. With your help and the help of thousands of voters in Senate District 31, I trust November 7 will be a great day for my campaign and for the great State of Indiana.

Russell Brown

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the effort for Russell. We're proud we could support him in this way.
