Today is Christmas Eve - and it's almost unpatriotic to play music other than holiday tunes now... (Not that it'll stop me. The iPod isn't set to the holiday genre just yet - there's only so many carols one can stand!) But in the spirit, here's my ten favorite Christmas songs that we have available in our collection.

So what's your top Christmas song? And why?

1. Christmas With the Family - Jill Sobule (My #1 favorite - hands down. I can relate.)
2. Song for a Winter's Night - Sarah McLachlan (No one on Earth has a prettier voice than Sarah. This song is so beautiful, I leave it on year round.)
3. You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch - Boris Karloff (I think this one ranks right up there with the Charlie Brown music as far as folks knowing it immediately.)
4. Blue Christmas - Porky Pig (I laugh every time. Every single time.)
5. White Christmas - Bing Crosby ('Cuz it aint Christmas without Bing...)
6. The First Noel - Mannheim Steamroller (I hate this group other than Christmas carols. They do those quite nicely.)
7. Greensleeves - Enya (Not my favorite version, but definitely one of my favorite songs.)
8. Silent Night - Mariah Carey (Another good one in a modern version.)
9. Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano (I always end up tapping my feet.)
10. O Holy Night - Unknown (I don't know who does this version, but it's just soaring and dramatic and makes your heart beat faster. Another one of the best carols.)

Bil, did you know that Irving Berlin wrote White Christmas? Irving Berlin was a Jewish man from Russia. He became very Americanized and was extremely patriotic! He loved his new country and he also wrote "Over There" during World War I. It's very ironic that the most played song in the world, the most played Christmas song, was written by a Jew!!!!
