Tucked into Article 4 of the Indiana Constitution, which deals with the Legislature, is Section 20, which says: "Every act and joint resolution shall be plainly worded, avoiding, as far as practicable, the use of technical terms."

Hmmm....SJR7, the proposed so-called "Marriage Amendment" is a "joint resolution". How about it, constitutional scholars, is its second paragraph "plainly worded"?

Oh, never mind, I forgot.......the Religious Right wants it as a "base-energizing" issue on the 2008 ballot. That trumps everything else, doesn't it?
