One more thing on Roseanne

I searched for about two minutes on the internets, not 54 years, and here are a few things I found. Like I said before, Roseanne just needs to get out a little more.

Openly gay Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA):

And openly lesbian Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI):

We must raise the federal minimum wage. No one should work full time, yet be unable to provide for him or herself and family, the basics of shelter food, clothing and health care.

Urvashi Vaid, former executive director of the NGLTF, said:

Gay civil rights must be seen as part of a broader focus on human rights, sexual and gender equality, social and economic justice, and faith in a multiracial society.

And our friend John Aravosis of AmericaBlog has posted over 40 times on the minimum wage, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't against it in any of them.

Is Roseanne implying that Urvashi Vaid, Barney Frank, Tammy Baldwin, and John Aravosis aren't politically active?

Nice one, Alex! All those years of debate training ain't going to waste!

And we can't forget the trnsgender warrior Leslie Feinberg has been a longtime advocate of workers' rights. In fact, she cut her political teeth working for the trade unions before she took up the cause of transgender equality.

Take that, Roseanne!

Haha, Serena. I'll start w/ my Frank card b/c it has video, then go to the Baldwin in 07, then the Vaid card b/c it's more general and can pre-empt Roseanne reading new links in the block, and end w/ Aravosis if I have time b/c I don't know if I'm ready to defend everything else he's said.

OK, like 3 people might get that joke.

Yeah, I agree w/ you on Bil's Roseanne post, that the gays often need chiding to support issues that don't directly affect them, but not a single one in 54 years? That's a bit much.
