Does this mean the Teletubbies are straight again?

OK, maybe not. That Tinky Winky always was rather fey.

Sadly, we may never know the other children's television characters who are surreptitiously making American's children into Nancy boys and Tom girls. The Rev. Jerry Falwell, who in his latter years eased up a bit on his homobigotry but never ceased to entertain, has passed away. He was 73.

Falwell died in his office at Liberty University, the Chrisitan "college" he founded in 1971.

Falwell is best known to the LGBT community for his anti-gay rants, including the infamous outing of purple purse carrying Teletubby Tinky Winky. Tinky Winky was unavailable for comment on this story. He is on a cruise with Spongebob Squarepants and Rosie O'Donnell in the Caribbean.

In recent years, Falwell had eased up on his anti-gay rhetoric. He even claimed in one interview that he had begun to believe that gays should have equal rights in employment, housing, and public accommodations; although he never changed his stance on gays being sinners condemned to hell or the rights of gays to marry.

But the forces of doom and gloom needn't fear, there are still plenty of homo-zealots to go around and grand dragons like Pat Robertson and James Dobson are minting new ones as fast as their nubby little cloven hooves will let them. Not to mention Liberty University, Falwell's own bigot factory, will continue churning out new flocks of sheeple for years to come.

A moment of silence for the fall of an enemy...OK, now where is the after party?

You mean they left Boo-Boo home again?

I like that you put Falwell's "college" in quotation marks where it belongs!

Good point, Matti -- I read recently that Liberty "University" is the most oft used "safety fallback" for those who don't make it into Robertson's little finishing school.

Comment from Joe.My.God.:
Eh-oh! Tinky Winky dance! Tinky do Jell-O shots!
