Hate crimes bill passes

The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act has passed the full House, as Marti announced earlier. It passed 237-180; I'll get the roll call up later when I find it.

Interesting sidenote: I just got an email from the HRC that the GOP moved to add an amendment that included seniors and veterans as protected classes. Totally a move just to kill the bill, considering how hated veterans are in this country. More importantly, the Democrats supported that amendment, and then, guess what, the GOP House Reps changed their minds, and they were against it! Aravosis has video of Steny Hoyer's speech.
