Here's one from GLSEN: What do you like to be called? Do people call you anything that you don't like?

Well, I don't like to be called late for supper :)
Seriously, when I was struggling with whether or not to come out and all that went with that, I could not stand the word lesbian. I'm not real sure why except that it was my own internal sillyness. I came out, and came to terms with my dislike for that word (I'm certain the two events were related).
Having said all that, I still like gay better. It's short, it's happy, and we are all in this together, so why not just one word to unite us?
I like queer, dyke, or lesbian. I'm also a fan of womyn, but ALWAYS with a y!
