It's hell to be an asshole anymore

Today's headlines bring us two cases of karmic retribution. The gay gods apparently snapped their fingers today.

Paris Hilton crying in the back of a cop carFirst, Paris Hilton had one helluva big adventure today. While she was released yesterday for a medical condition, her sentencing judge ordered her back in court today. Paris wanted to, literally, phone in, but the judge sent the deputies to cuff her and bring her in. Back in court, Paris was ordered back to jail (this time for the full 45 days) and left the courtroom screaming for her mother.

Sorry, baby. You did the crime, now do the time. Millions of others have gone to jail longer for less. No sympathy here. There are a lot of other mentally and physically sick individuals in jail that don't get out because of it. If she's that bad off, they should lock her up in a mental institution like the dude that shot Reagan. Come to think of it, that might be the explanation for a lot of her behavior, eh?

The general made headlines a while back with a homophobic comment, but that is not the reason being given out for the change in guard. He is being replaced by Navy Admiral Mike Mullen. Mullen has spoken out before that he is willing to change the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy currently in place.

It's starting to look like DADT's time is over; the handwriting is on the wall. While I've never understood why anyone would want to go in the armed services, we should all have equal opportunity to do so.

Thank goodness for a little bit of karmic payback. What's next? Will Isaiah Washington not be invited back to Grey's Anatomy?

Ooooooh. Spooky.

I love this post, Bil, and God knows I don't feel sorry for either of these jerks.

But I do flinch at your use of the word asshole --- I happen to like assholes, especially male ones, and neither of these two deserve the compliment.

(It's kinda like when somebody says, "That sucks!" and so often my internal response is, "And so ... ?")

Oh, my ... many days have past, and my lighthearted remark above got ignored again ... not a good sign ... not a good sign ...

But after all, you might say that when I posted it I meant it to be merely tongue-in-cheek ... hee ... hee ...
