In the aftermath of New Jersey's civil unions law, residents are quickly finding out that separate does not mean equal. Hundreds of couples have started complaining that they are being denied insurance benefits by their employers and public accommodations like hospital visitation. They simply aren't being treated like spouses as the law requires. Blue Jersey has started putting out some ads that use the popular Mac vs. PC commercials to highlight the differences between married couples and those who only get civil unions.

Maybe soon we'll see an Apple ad where Mac and PC reveal their love for each other. Soon, they'll be cavorting around Provincetown telling everyone about their new "open" operating system. Maybe they'll adopt a Widget and name it Linux.

See after the jump for another Blue Jersey commercial.
