Queer/Chicana/goth writer Myriam Gurba is on tour now with her first book of fiction, Dahlia Season. (Keep an eye out for a new story by her in make/shift no. 2, which goes to layout tomorrow!)

And LA's Outfest film festival starts this week. I'll be posting short screening reviews here--with a special emphasis on experimental queer-feminist films. (There are some, I swear! I looked hard for them in the catalog, pushing past the glare of images of Tori Spelling in a wedding gown ... )
