In my search for the latest in transgender news, sometimes I come across an unexpected gem. Yesterday I came across this post entitled "We Must Reclaim American Values!" In the post was a photograph of a young man with a gay pride flag around his shoulders and the words "Captain Gay" scrawled on his chest. From the post:

"I must tell you, I wouldn't be responsible for my actions if I were to witness this crap first hand. Frankly, I would probably be thrown in jail. People do not have the right to offend me to this degree, and I don't give a tinker's damn whether or not they think they do because of their so-called freedom of speech! You wave a sign like that in front of my face and by all that's holy, you will get what you ask for! Your normally mild-mannered Dragon Lady is pissed, dear readers!"

The irony and hypocrisy is so stark these days with Christian conservatives. If you visit that blog you'll see icons (idols) of worship. The author of the post uses vulgar language in the post and calls herself the "Dragon Lady." According to Wikipedia:

In Revelation 12:3, an enormous red beast with seven heads is described, whose tail sweeps one third of the stars from heaven down to earth (held to be symbolic of the fall of the angels, though not commonly held among biblical scholars). In most translations, the word "dragon" is used to describe the beast, since in the original Greek the word used is drakon (??????).

I guess Christ's admonition to

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength"

"'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these"

only apply to Democrats or liberals.

The crazy person quoted reminds me of the Muslims who were offended by the Mohammed cartoon. "How dare you offend me! It's time for jihad." Also the Pakistani politicians who were saying that suicide bombings was a proper response to Salman Rushdie getting a knighthood.

The quote you used is pulled out of context. It was not in reference to the picture of 'Captain Gay' but to a picture of a woman holding a sign reading "Dyke: We may not go down in history but we'll go down on your sister". Thus the reason the poster said "You wave a sign like that in front of my face...". Although to be fair the quote was underneath the picture of 'Captain Gay'.

Not that I agree with their comments, I just think they should be correctly cited.
