At around 11 this morning, the judge who lifted the state ban on same-sex marriage stayed his ruling until the appeals process is over. Eight gay couples, who got their licenses approved in time, are, I'm assuming from what I've read, married in Iowa.

Only one couple got married in time even though 8 got licenses. I saw that they had to run all over Des Moines to find a minister who would marry them.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
