Friend of the blog, Jon Swift, has put together a list of the Best Political Blog Posts of 2007. The Bilerico Project editors submitted Karen Celestino-Horseman's post "When Love Is Not Enough." The entry chronicles the controversial court decision that split two partners of 26 years apart when one suffered a debilitating aneurism. The stricken man's mother was quoted as saying she'd rather her son die than return to his partner and has kept them apart for years.
If you have any information about who distributes Atkins desserts (the mother's company), please leave a comment and let us know. We're still working on getting restaurants and suppliers to drop the product line in protest. So far, several Indianapolis hotspots have nixed the Atkins dessert line completely. While every shop dropping the product helps, much of what Atkins produces is sold to large, national food service companies. (For example, restaurant supply giant Sysco is featuring Atkins cheesecake as a showcase product right now.)
