We have a lot of photos that are just laying around the house degrading. Since our internet was down most of the day yesterday, Jerame started scanning them so I could have them on my computer.

Bil Browning Age 3This is his favorite picture of me. It's February 1976. I'm 3. I'm at my grandparents' house in Zanesville, Ohio. Until I was about 6 I had that big mop of curls. People in the grocery store would tell my mother, "What a pretty little girl!"

I was talking to my mom over the holidays and she told me that my grandma is in the hospital. Grandma is in her 90s now. She is moving into a nursing home when she feels better, but she's not happy about it. She's been rather independent since my grandpa died. She never remarried. He died the next year, I think. They were married for over 40 years.

Here's to the new year and remembering the past.

What a little cutie you were!!!

I hope your grandma feels better soon and that the nursing home proves to be a happier place than she fears.

And I hope that 2008 is a healthy, happy, prosperous new year for the worldwide LGBT community and its allies and loved ones.

You were absolutely adorable! I hope your grandma feels better soon too. Allan and I saw a movie the other day called "Savages" about a brother and sister who put their estranged father into a nursing home. It was a very bittersweet story. I hope your grandma goes to a place that is caring. Wishing you, Jerame and Paige, and all readers of bilerico, a Happy and Healthy New Year!!!! And hoping for more tolerance in 2008!
