SHONIA BROWN2PICTURE.gifShonia Brown lives in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the few remaining Atlanta natives. She is an entrepreneur who founded and maintains an arts and entertainment technology company designed to market and promote independent artists.

Through the original development of Nghosi Books.com's online artist forum, Shonia fed her need to share her creative talents (blessings) with other independent artists who also embraced the power and importance of giving and receiving.

Through her five year development of Nghosi Books.com, Shonia has created a one-stop shop for news and reviews of emerging artists that includes a quarterly e-zine, Nghosi Arts, 24-hour Internet radio program, NTUNES (formerly CNOTES) Radio, artist profiles, e-commerce site, event planning and artist showcase platform, and the new addition of a small print press for African-American GLBT literature. With the premiere of this GLBT publishing house, Shonia spotlighted the work of 25 talented black lesbian writers in the debut of Longing, Lust, and Love: Black Lesbian Stories (2007).

In addition to her title as publisher, she is also a published author. Her first novel, A Deeper Love premiered in 2002. Her fiction has also appeared in the anthology, Ma-Ka Diasporic Juks: Contemporary Writing by Queers of African Descent. In the midst of the various projects and community services that she performs, Shonia is currently working on her second novel, The Minister’s Wife, which will premiere in late 2009.
