Cleaning up afterwards

My street was full of cop cars, ambulances and a fire truck again today. The city's crime wave has touched our block yet again.

From what the neighbors tell me, this time a couple of guys tried to steal a car but the owner saw them. He opened fire and shot 7 or 8 times. I heard the gunfire, but thought it was a neighbor banging on something.

Apparently the guy didn't miss. The two men ran to our block before one collapsed on a neighbor's porch. The other made it to the back yard before police arrived and captured him.

Is this what Mayor Ballard meant when he said he'd get a grip on crime? Vigilante justice?
