Just in from the tip line...

Mary Ann Sullivan will not be contested in the Democratic primary in May for Indiana House District 97. Sullivan was victorious at the Marion County Slating Convention on February 16. Sullivan has never held elected office.

Jon Elrod currently represents district 97, but is running for Congress against Councilman Andre Carson in the special election on March 11. No Republican, including Elrod, filed to run in District 97.
If elected, Sullivan pledges to serve her entire term as a Representative.

Sullivan faced off against Indianapolis City-County Councilor Dane Mahern in the Democratic slating. Mahern announced he would run for his uncle's old seat practically before the votes were counted in his last CCC race.
