Can you run for Congress and be totally pro-equality? Of course! And we continue to find more of these candidates. Here are our five most recent endorsees:

  • A lesbian who would be only the second openly lesbian elected to Congress.
  • A candidate in a state you would never think we could win.
  • A pro-equality Democrat to replace a conservative Democratic incumbent.
  • A Mormon.
  • A woman in a state that will allow marriage soon.

Check the details of who they are...

Linda Ketner (D-SC) is running for the US House of Representatives in South Carolina (Charleston). She will be the second openly lesbian in Congress. She is one of the most generous contributors to equality in our community. Now it is the time to help her win.

Nick Carter (D-WY) is running for US Senate in Wyoming. He is totally pro equality and he can win in "the Equality State" because that state has a long tradition of individual freedom from government intrusion. Moreover, it only takes 125,000 votes to win a US Senate seat (and under $1M).

Kevin Powell (D-NY) is running to replace a longterm incumbent conservative Democrat in Brooklyn and would bring another pro-equality ally to Congress. His passion for civil rights naturally extends to LGBTQ rights. The primary is on September 9th.

Steve Young (D-CA) will be an important voice in Congress: A Mormon who is pro-equality. We need him in Congress to demonstrate that even members of conservative religious groups can support civil marriage equality.

Tracey Brooks (D-NY) is passionate about being pro-equality in a state that will play a key role in advancing LGBTQ rights in the next two years. Her ability to sway conservatives to favor marriage equality is very impressive.

This is the time to support these pro-equality candidates! Check more information on these candidates as well as all of the other eQualityGiving's Endorsed Candidates.
