Thanks to the good folks at Miramax Films, Waugh revise 2[1].jpgthis weekend we have a special contest surrounding Brideshead Revisited. The film opened in select theaters last Friday and expands today. Up for grabs to two lucky Projectors:

One Grand Prize:

  • 1 Hard Cover Brideshead Revisited book by Evelyn Waugh
  • 1 Brideshead Revisited Official Soundtrack

One Secondary Prize:
  • 1 Soft Cover Brideshead Revisited book by Evelyn Waugh

How do you win? Just leave us a (constructive) comment on how we can improve the Bilerico Project. Give us your best ideas! Contest will close at 9am on Monday and the winners will be chosen at random.

Info on the film (if you've never read one of my favorite books!) and a trailer after the jump.

(This post will jump back up to the top throughout the weekend.)

A provocative and suspenseful drama, "BRIDESHEAD REVISITED" tells an evocative story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence set in the pre-WWII era. In the film, Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode, "Match Point," "The Lookout") becomes entranced with the noble Marchmain family, first through the charming and provocative Sebastian Flyte (Ben Whishaw, "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer"), and then his sophisticated sister, Julia (Hayley Atwell, "Cassandra's Dream" and the upcoming "The Duchess").

The rise and fall of Charles' infatuations reflect the decline of a decadent era in England between the wars. Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson co-stars as Lady Marchmain. The film, based on Evelyn Waugh's acclaimed novel is adapted for the screen by multiple BAFTA Award-winner Andrew Davies ("Bridget Jones Diary," "Bleak House") and Jeremy Brock ("The Last King of Scotland") and directed by Julian Jarrold ("Becoming Jane").

I can't wait to see the film and see how close it is to the book! Anyone want to go with me when it hits theaters in Indianapolis?

I'm a MASSIVE Emma Thompson fan and really enjoy this prize pack......

my (constructive) comment/tip to make TBP even better would be to try and get new Projectors who represent non-lgbt orgs but have similar goals. Examples would be like a policy director at Planned Parenthood or a communnications manager at the ACLU. It would be interesting to see other organizations putting their two cents on LGBT current events and issues.

just my thought.

HOPE I WIN!!!!!!!!

I think it would be awesome to have a few more younger bilerico guest bloggers. I work for a queer youth organization, and the youth I work with are some of the smartest, most articulate and socially aware people I've ever met.

Like DCist (and other ‘ist’ blogs) create a way to follow other users and easily access their most recent comments.

Be more honest and thorough in your coverage.

Decide, once and for all, whether you take yourseleves seriously orwhether you're just a bunch of amateur kids playing around on the inernet.

i also think Anon should be the next TBP contributor...

The next time you have a contest make it a real contest based on what YOU have found constructive to the blog. Just lumping EVERY suggestion into a bowl and picking randomly shows that you are the product of the self esteem generation and actually do not value the suggestions made.

My second suggestion; copious gratuitous nudity.

Anon's got a good point.

My suggestion:

I haven't been reading TBP long, but holy crap, clean this place up. Every time I come here I feel like I'm being suffocated by information. Crushed, if you will.

Haha, some serious Bilerico hate going on in this thread!
