I wanted to thank everyone that's donated to our fund to send three Bilerico bloggers to the DNCC convention. We've raised $2020 so far - we're 2/3 of the way there!

Three of us are going from Indianapolis - Jerame Davis, Marti Abernathey and myself. Jerame and Marti are also delegates to the convention which will give them a unique perspective you'll only find on Bilerico Project. While we're all excited about going, we need your help in meeting our fundraising goal.

The DNCC may not have given us press credentials, but we've gone one better - tickets to the floor of the convention! You'll be able to get inside information on Bilerico Project and Bilerico-Indiana that you won't find anywhere else.

We also have credentials and passes to all of the LGBT parties and events. We'll be hanging out with the protesters and mingling at some of the other progressive org's events. Shoot, we even have a Big Tent pass for those of us without official press credentials! We're 2/3 of the way, can you help us reach our goal?

Plane tickets and hotel costs alone are about $2500 for the three of us and Jerame and Marti will be missing time at work to go. Even if you're only able to pitch in $10 or $20, it will help us to cover our expenses. It all adds up!

Thank you so much for all of your generosity so far. Our coverage next week of the Convention will be unique, constant and continuous. Thanks for helping us to bring all of this to the LGBT community. We're more grateful than you'll ever know.

Hey Projectors -

Bil and company need to be in Denver at least four days. That's at least 36 meals and drinks, cab fare to and from the airport, transportation to and from the convention center, taxes, tips, and all of those little things that add up on trips. Ideally, they'd be there longer.

That's going to add up to well over $500 on top of the hotel and airfare. So while it seems like we're close to the fundraising goal, the reality is that they need at least $500 *on top of* the $3,000.

So let's ante up! We need to *surpass* the goal!

Thanks Rory. Since Jerame is on the Rules Committee, he and I will be there for 8 days. Marti, I believe, will be there for 4 days. I appreciate your help in appealing to the masses! :)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, Bil. I had said at least four days as the minimum because I didn't know your plans. When I was a delegate, I was in SF for two weeks for the convention. I didn't want to assume you're as fanatical as I was. :-) Also, I wasn't sure if there was a GLBT Democratic conference the week before the convention, as there was in 1984. That helped extend my stay.

So, folks - my calculations were off. Double the days means double the food, drinks, cabs, etc. Bil & company really need more like at least *$4,000* to make this trip happen; not their much more modest goal of $3,000. Leave it to the nice guys to undersell their needs.

So let's step this up, Projectors!
