Hoosier Access (sorta) acknowledges racist post

When I wrote my post yesterday about Hoosier Access blogger Michael Jezierski's racist rant about Barack Obama, I didn't realize that other local blogs like Masson's Blog and Bloosier Hysteria were already pointing it out.

Hoosier Access leader Josh Gillespie responded to my post with a comment and a few hours later put up his own post on the blog. Josh's post never quite makes it to the "apology" level, but, instead, attempts to half-heartedly defend the racist rant. While I realize he's not intending to defend racism, I'd suggest a much simpler route: apologize and move on.

A lot has been made of today because of a few lines at the end of a post written by one of our Directors concerning Democrat Presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama. Was it something I would have written? Probably not, but then again, that's not my style of writing.

But what poured out of the keyboards of the so-called tolerant and self righteous left was nothing more than petty minded hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy? Did I miss the racist rants here on Bilerico-Indiana and on Masson's Blog and Bloosier Hysteria? No, Josh is referring to sexist attacks by the worldwide liberal blogosphere on Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. After all, as we've learned from the heady days of the Bush administration, two wrongs do, in fact, now make a right. Blaming a country blog for another country blog's actions also seems like a reasonable part of the post-Bush "Facts? We don't need no stinking facts!" era.

The offending paragraphs were scrubbed from the original post after Josh's entry went up on the site.
