Teenage fans of "Sex and the City" Carrie Bradshaw Hibiscus.jpgwill have something to look forward to in the fall of 2010. Harper Collins announced this week that it signed a 2-book deal with author Candace Bushnell to write about Carrie Bradshaw's high school days. According to US Magazine:

"I've always been interested in exploring Carrie's teenage years," Bushnell said in a statement. "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd - she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene."

Perhaps inspired by the convergence of the loyalty of Harry Potter fans and the longevity of "Sex and the City's" global success, the novels are sure to be a cash cow for Harper Collins.

Be sure to leave your pick for the novels' name in the comments section. I betting on "Abstinence Before Marriage in a Small Town." Oh wait . . . that's the name of Sarah Palin's future grandchild. My bad!

And now they are talking about a SATC sequel. I guess we better get our party dresses and cosmos back out, Serena!

Oh, sister! Gimme a link for the gossip. I need confirmation, because this is just too good to be true!

But, what was up with Kristin Davis not being at the party for the DVD release?

I thought it was SJP and Kim Katrell who didn't get along.

That's good gossip, Michael. I hadn't heard about that.

Am I guessing that we're all having a DVD release party tomorrow with cocktails and tiaras? Oh, it's just me?

Funniest thing I heard on TV the other night... Two people are talking about the Sex in the City books and one says, "the books will include the young teenager's serendipitous meeting with a scrawny, bleached blonde 40 year old woman named Samantha."

Whatever happened to the old Peanut Butter and Jelly series? Why aren't little girls still reading those? I loved them!
*dead silence*
*crickets chirp*

K, I'll find something else to comment about.

Oh, Alex . . . did you read the Ramona series, too? Because I did! Who couldn't love a butch little girl and her friends Henry and Rigby the Dog?
