What Does Hope Look Like?

My guess is something a lot like this:

Over 100,000 people showed up at Obama's rally in St Louis, Missouri. I just hope each and every one of them remembers to vote come election day.

Together we are strong.

But McCain supporters make up for their small numbers with their ferocity.

I remember Clinton drawing a huge crowd in St. Louis in 1992. I stood on the steps to the library to watch him address the crowd. I had a megaphone since I was there to protest with ACT UP and a Secret Service agent walked up to me and politely asked me not to yell through it in the direction of the candidate since it could contain a gun. He was very nice about suggesting that I aim the megaphone perpendicular to the candidate so I could still be heard, but not be a security threat. I did as he asked.

And when I jumped down from the ledge that he and I were standing on, he held the megaphone for me so I could jump down easier. I've always remembered him since I never imagined the Secret Service agents to be so friendly. A couple of years later, I saw him again on TV walking beside President Clinton.

100,000 people!

Hmm...that's almost half the crowd he drew for his Berlin rally ;)

If that's what hope looks like imagine what the rage of his betrayed voters will look like...

True, but it's bigger than any crowd he's drawn in the US (in Portland this spring or at his acceptance speech in Denver).

I should also point out that McCain held a rally in a suburb of St. Louis today; the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that it drew three thousand people. Compare and contrast.
