This is how it's done

Yesterday I complained that too many bloggers were focusing too myopically on the fact that the National Organization for Marriage commercial used actors. This is how you work that tidbit into a much larger landscape like I was suggesting. The YouTuber really nailed it.

This is brilliant. Just brilliant.

WOW. I wish that more people could see this. I wish more people did not believe everything that they watch on TV. I wish that more people would question what other tell them.

Reactionary social conservatives have inculcated their brood in a language that elicits an immediate and visceral response, while civil marriage equality advocates and LGBTQ activists have done little of the same work to train sympathetic ears to unctuous sound bites. Worse, prominent LGBTQ people and allies have ceded any discussion of "morality" to the fundie fringe, unwilling to call out the other side as bearing false witness through outright falsehoods and conflated issues. F%[email protected] morality! It's about ethical relationships between consenting adults and ethical behavior in the political arena.

Hence, the YT response to NOM is akin to David flicking a mite at Goliath, not a lethal stone. Sure, Queers and allies get it, but the video neither sharpens a proactive or defensive message, nor dissects the Talibanesque logic of NOM et al in a manner that the moveable middle can grasp as a threat to their freedoms.
