Please welcome Tom Brown of Daytona Beach, the newest member of our happily expanding Bilerico-Florida family.
Tom is a self-described "unrehabilitated relic of the 60s" who spent 38 years in mainstream media. Early in his journalism career, he was a political reporter for AP at the Massachusetts Statehouse; in later years, he covered local government for the Providence Journal and business for the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Now semi-retired, he continues freelancing as well as operating an online bookstore, KingChamp Books. He also is active in a gay-affirming Daytona church and is a regular contributor to GayDaytona Magazine. He has lived with his partner Jay for 28 years. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Syracuse University and served a year's internship with the Agency for International Development in New Delhi, India.

(We are fortunate to be joined by a skilled and experienced writer like Tom, but if you are a less experienced Florida LGBTQ writer or blogger and think you might like to join us, don't be shy about contacting me with an expression of your interest. When you do, please include a writing sample.)
