After I asked about bringing on a straight contributor to TBP, the majority of Projectors liked the idea. We've run a few guest posts now from some folks we were considering and the Ed Team has made our decisions. *drumroll*

Please welcome Don Davis and Betty Greene Salwack to the Bilerico Project!

Don Davis is a complex recipe. In a large bowl, add 3 parts curiosity, 1 part "I Wish I Was Sam Clemens", 3 parts geek, 2 parts failed stand-up comic, a dash of photographer, a pinch of itinerant ne'er do well...and fill the bowl the rest of the way with cynic. You can see even more stories at his home blog, "advice from a fake consultant." Don recently guest posted a fascinating history of Gladys Bentley, an African-American trans entertainer in the 20s and 30s.

Betty Greene Salwak is a transplanted Floridian living in Indiana with her husband of 30 years and their two children. She began her professional life as a Language Arts teacher, became a sales trainer during her corporate period, and was plucked from the congregation of her church to write a five-year curriculum for the elementary Sunday School. Betty is a long-time Bilerico reader and commented under the username "Birdie." She recently guest posted about her fight against conservative Christianity. Betty will also be blogging on Bilerico-Indiana.

Please join me in welcoming these two shining lights to the Project.

My Partner and I were subjected to hate and
harassment for four years caused by straights;
we finally had to sell our home and move. The
bottom line is members of the LBGT community are
still Second Class citizens. Regardless of what
happens straights still have equal rights and in my opinion truly do not understand what most members of the LGBT community are subjected to on a regular basis. We are quite tried of being told we have to understand.

Rick: I hope by your note you aren't implying that straight people have no place in the LGBT activist circuit. I for one am thrilled to see straight allies. We are too small of a group to not embrace and encourage their participation - without which, we will not win.

I also have a straight ally contributor on my blog and could not do it without her. They are likely our greatest assets.

Glad TBP is adding their perspective!
