Here's a new feature for the Bilerico Project, and we'll see how this goes: a weekly podcast roundtable discussion. I'm the host and producer, and this week's guests were Patricia Nell Warren, Dr. Jillian Weiss, and Dr. Yasmin Nair. We talked ENDA, the National Equality March, health care reform, and Stu Rasmussen.

I promised extra links, and they're after the jump. I also have some tech questions, so if you know more about this than I do (you probably do), please take a look.

Podcast tech stuff

OK, so I used the built-in mic on my laptop. It's new and I was surprised that it didn't have a mic jack, so I'll have to get a USB mic before next week's show.

What I did want to know is if there's a way to reduce the static, or if that's simply a byproduct of what we're doing. We used Skype but I called up Yasmin and Patricia on their landlines with it, while Jillian and I were actually on Skype. I recorded with Garageband on a Mac.

Basically, I know that it could be more cleaned up, but I don't really know much of what else to do other than to get a real mic for me (I ended up re-recording some of the questions because the background noise and/or the bottom-of-the-lake sound made it hard to understand what I was saying, and I also cut out a few times when others said, "I don't understand, can you repeat the question?"

Anyway, I'd welcome non-tech help if you have any suggestions. What do you all think of the format? Any people you'd like to see on the show?
