The brilliant and irreverent satirist Brian Safi, from my favorite nerdy show on my favorite nerdy channel - InfoMania, is back exploring more LGBT issues and stereotypes as they are portrayed by the clueless media and pop culture.

This clip from last week's show deals with the hip hop term for not being gay: "No Homo":

Are you terrified that people may think you're gay? No worries, hip hop has coined a phrase to get you out of the stickiest situations. Just throw in a "no homo" and you can say pretty much anything you want!

Don't forget- Safi is a fun tweeter to follow and InfoMania is also on Twitter!

That's Gay is a recurring segment on the weekly television show infoMania. In each episode of That's Gay, Bryan Safi explores gay issues and stereotypes as they are portrayed by the clueless media. For more Bryan visit http://current.com/groups/thats-gay/ and Current TV.

infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Sarah Haskins, Ben Hoffman, Bryan Safi and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific Times and can be found online at http://current.com/infomania/ or on Current TV. In a sub-culture that is super-homophobic such as hip-hop (OK, a few hip-hop figures put out the message "It's OK to be gay as long as you don't think I'm gay ...) you need a phrase such as "no homo" ... which immediately becomes over-used.

White straight guys are just as insecure about their sexuality (and their sexuality reputations) as black guys are, but the sexual insecurity of black men has a special spin to it, and super-homophobia is part of that spin. (Other obvious but unspoken examples: The only thing worse than a black guy with a tiny dick is a black guy who is gay. And the only thing worse that a black guy digging other black guys is a black guy who digs white guys.)

As for the females, have you noticed that the girl-on-girl fad was almost entirely a white girl phenomenon? What does that tell us about hip-hop homophobia?

Sorry that a white guy is making these observations. They are honest ones, and racism is not my intent. To me, identifying the nuances of a culture, and racism, are two different things. But call me out on being racist if you feel I'm guilty.

P.S. Didn't watch video due to dial-up line. --- AJL

Actually...the newest coined phrase, as described to the boys of raannt, is NOHOMODL(down low)...meaning, those hip hop artists, who have everyone wanting to be on their "dick", but in actuality, are screwing these same dudes back stage, but fronting straight on stage!...yo yo, NOHOMODL...Wuz up!

Current TV is another liberal website sucking the tit of the Obama Administration. Plus they're working for Al Gore and trying to push his green liberal agenda to destroy the corporations that have kept this country afloat. Also, all those in the LGBT's agenda is a threat to the corporations due to affirmative action. Cut the liberal pro-commie filth Current, it ain't happenin'.
