I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

A nation-wide community conference call has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 1st, at noon EST to discuss actions we can take to push a vote on ENDA now. It will last one hour.

All are welcome. Please register.

I will be on the call to discuss strategy.

After the jump: Inspiration, and a call to action

I have to admit, this fight for ENDA is becoming very wearing.

It's time for some inspiration! Here's a song written for Rosa Parks, at that moment on the bus. While the struggle for African-American civil rights and LGBT civil rights are not the same, we can draw inspiration from that courage, to help us take a stand in the face of our inequality before the law. This will not be given to us. We must take it.

Click on the picture of Rosa Parks to hear the song "Today Is For Heroes," posted with permission*. Think of the courage it took to defy the law in those days of violence and brutality, and recognize that courage in yourself. Take action.

"Here I stand, I can do no other." -- Martin Luther

"Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals." --Martin Luther King, Jr.

Please call the House Committee on Education and Labor to ask that ENDA be scheduled immediately for markup: 202-225-3725.

(You can also call the toll free DC Capitol line and ask for the Committee: 866-220-0044)

There is also a petition to sign online: click here.
