I realize that I'm constantly asking readers to vote for TBP in some contest or another, but today I'm asking that you vote for someone else.

Air America has been running a contest for one progressive blogger to win a seven day cruise to Mexico with Rachel Maddow and Howard Dean. Contributor Pam Spaulding, contributor Adam Bink's best friend Mike Lux, and longtime friend of the blog Joe Jervis are all nominees. Until today, Joe has had a huge lead, joe.pngbut with less than 24 hours left in the contest, new results came out:

First place - Mike Lux (45%)
Second place - Joe Jervis (26%)
Third place - Karl Frisch (12%)
Fourth place - Pam Spaulding (11%)
Fifth place - Digby (6%)

No disrespect meant to Pam or Adam, but I'm encouraging everyone to go vote for Joe Jervis. One of our own should win that prize, doggone it. Joe is the only one within reach and he's a close personal friend who works incredibly hard. (Unlike Pam, Mike, or even me, he has no other contributors or assistants. He does it all.)

Go vote for him. Please.

If you're feeling especially generous (and I know you are), send out this tweet too: Please RT: < 24 hours left in blogger cruise contest. Vote for Joe now: #helpahomowin @joemygod You can also post this on Facebook.

Where is your story on the passage of the Federal Employees Domestic Partner and Benefits Obligations Act out of a Senate Committee today? Let's not forget that ENDA and Don't Ask Don't Tell aren't the only LGBT friendly bills that need to be passed.
