I am pleased to know that the New Year celebration of the beach fire (which I invented when asked by a reporter about my New Year plans) is still going strong. I told the reporter it was a long-standing tradition. Many went to the beach that year not wanting to miss what they suspected had gone on without them. Once on the beach, they waited a bit and then piled up combustible debris and gave birth to the venerable tradition.
"I'm Joe Lieberman..rawk!" I loved that line!
My daughter, a Anthro/Women's Studies-Gender grad student at Brandeis took off to Florida from Massachusetts to get away from the cold. Ye're mad, lass, mad, standing out in that chill.
