"Democrat after Democrat, including a couple of current countywide officeholders, rose to share their opinion. As one officeholder put it, 'There's a lot of talk about a candidate that will just 'fit in' into that Senate seat. We need a candidate that will stand out.'

"While Brad Ellsworth's name was only mentioned once (by yours truly), it became clear that the anti-choice and pro-gun views of the Blue Dog Democrat do not jive with the views of many of the Ward Chairs and Vice Ward Chairs in Marion County."

-- Indianapolis blogger Jon Easter describing a meeting for Indy Democratic Party officials on Thursday night. Rep Ellsworth is seeking to be nominated to replace Senator Evan Bayh on the ballot, but Ellsworth's rushed anointing is angering (and mobilizing) progressives across the state - especially Latinos, the pro-choice folks, and the LGBT community. Indianapolis has the largest concentration of Democratic voters in the state.

Bil, just FYI, the word you mean is actually "jibe," not "jive." I wouldn't mention it except that you might want to avoid the racial connotation associated with "jive."

Actually, that's the quote from the other blogger, not me. My explanation is the part in italics.
