Republicans love lesbian sex

so long as it's about serving straight men's sexual appetites.

This is the real sexual hypocrisy. Those family values Republicans who out to be getting a little love on the side in the bathrooms? That's nothing. At least those folks are living in shame, are keeping their heads down and keeping their secret while married to their wives and seeking sex on the sly. They're exactly the stereotype the right has of us, exactly what the fundamentalists want us to do, and they're paying for it with their own mental health.

But these folks I have no patience for. The RNC's FEC filings are out. Lots of people are talking about this item from Michael Steele's expense account:

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

How comfortable am I with someone who's led the charge against LGBT people and sexuality in general going to an Eyes Wide Shut themed topless girl-on-girl nightclub to schmooze with wealthy donors who all want to keep the peons' sexualities under control? Considering that the GOP considers itself the moral saviors of the American soul, helping to protect us from our own perverted selves, this is infuriating.

While a few people have suggested that RNC donors will get mad over this, I doubt it. They understand that this is part of being a fundraiser and a talent seeker - you've got to take the customers out for a night on the town they won't forget, so it's not going to be Sizzler.

In fact, I'm sure they see no shame here at all - these boys just enjoy watching girls half-naked, getting it on. And then the next morning, they wake up, put on their suits, and go on TV and criticize the rest of us for having functional sex drives.

These are the people who are the destructive hypocrites. They're perfectly willing to control the peons' sexualities, keep us in line since pleasure and sexual and gender transgression is just too much for us and might keep us from being good little workers and docile citizens, while they go out and do everything they want to ban us from doing.

It's not about sneaking out and getting a little play because the moral system you support isn't something anyone can live up to. It's simply arrogance, arrogance to think that, for them, it's just bros hanging out, sharing a bottle, taking in the sights, while anyone else just wouldn't be able to handle it. They're the adults who can watch two women making out and appreciate it for what what it is. But if a woman did that? If two women wanted to make out, at home, with no straight dude watching, for themselves and their own pleasure? Whoa no! That's just not cool.

At least we know a little more about how Michael Steele doesn't care about lesbians:

Unless you're a homosexual or a lesbian, it's not going to rise up on your radar screen. I'm focused on other things. You can talk about gay rights all you want, but it doesn't mean crap if you don't have a job.

He's focused on other things, if you know what I mean.

Here's a review of the club to give you an idea of what goes on there since the club's site has been shut down.

Apparently this is the hottest club in Hollywood right now where all the celebrities like to hang out. I personally found this place kinda shady! And I'm not talking about the dark lighting or the topless dancers dangling from the ceiling. If you do table service, forget about any sort of VIP treatment. You still have to wait awhile in line and they seem to expect you to order one bottle for every 2 people. WTF? How are 2 people supposed to finish a bottle of vodka? And in less than 3 hours considering the club's closing time at 2am?!

We entered with a party of 5 (3 guys and 2 girls) and was initially led to this small table which only had enough seating for 2-3. Thankfully they allowed us to move one table over which had adequate seating for our group. But then when we wanted to get 2 more friends in, we were told that we had to order a third bottle because they were guys. After a long hold up and failed negotiations, they finally brought out the 2 bottles we ordered and we got our drink on without the remainder of our guests :(

Since there are topless women all throughout the club, there is a strict no photo policy, even if you're taking pictures of your friends and the go-go dancers are nowhere in view of your camera.

And no, I didn't see any celebrities or paparazzi. Probably because I was too drunk (yes, we finished our bottles! Can't let good alcohol go to waste!) and don't even remember leaving the place....

Normally, I'd say you were right: the donors wont care.

Apparently, according to Huffington, the RNC tried to pin the whole thing on some very wealthy donor who was *using* RNC funds to do all this. Not Michael. The *donor*... who also happens to be an uber-conservative Christian who wouldnt set foot in a place like this. Needless to say, the donors dont buy this explanation for a second and are getting pretty pissed about it.

Such interesting times we live in...

Well, that is going to make donor feel all warm and fuzzy. I hope that lots of donors are alienated.
