Another fabulous find, this vintage photo seems to be ca. 1920s-30s. I love everything about this precious piece of history -- except for not knowing the story behind it. A private event? A gay nightclub? US? Berlin? Agh! Any thoughts, oh wise readers?

As a fan of movies from the 1930s, I would guess that the picture was taken then, probably in Germany. The hat being worn at the far left may give more clues about where the picture was taken. The hair cuts also suggest the 1930s. Only a guess....

The guy on the right looking down rather mournfully is so beautiful.

i suspect this photo is by brassai, as this looks very similar:

i am desperate to find out who this is by. :( - i think it's also brassai, but haven't been able to prove it. any ideas?
