Here's a live performance of openly-lesbian singer/songwriter Holly Miranda's "Waves."

Here's a song from her band, with whom she's put out two albums. "Organs on the Kitchen Floor."

I'm a huge Fugees fan, and I love "Ex-Factor" from Lauryn Hill's solo career. This is a great cover, that kept that real NYC flavor in the song.

In her own words, talking with, on the inherent lesbian subtext in all her music:

"Usually if I'm writing a love song it's probably about a girl," Miranda said. "That's just me."

Meh. Why are so many of these spotlighted LGBT musicians so damn whiney and depressing?
