Here's a Coca-Cola ad from Egypt. It's kind of gay.

The use of the term "kind of gay" is not unlike the addage "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I've always felt that being gay is akin to being pregnant -- it's an all or nothing situation. In the context of Coke's ad campaign, eg., use someone else's hand to remove the screw cap off a bottle of coke, all I see is ironic humor. The incredulous look on the stranger's face is the punch line -- and it ain't gay. Not even kind of. Implying that it is only feeds anti-gay stereotyping and homophobia in some segments of society that infers the message that touching another man in any way, for any reason or condition, must be avoided by all possible means lest one become tainted as a queer sexual socailly degenerate pervert. It is no wonder that young male youths develope huge aversions to being perceived as being "kind of" gay while interacting with other guys in social public situtions.
