Lesbian actress Jane Lynch won an Emmy last night for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester, the tracksuit dependent cheerleading coach, on Glee. Not only does she thank her wife, she also scores a few laughs along the way. Congratulations to Jane on a well-deserved win.

Other queer winners last night included Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson for his role as half of a gay couple and British actress Archie Panjabi's portrayal of a bisexual private investigator in The Good Wife.

Don't forget that the formerly coupled Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman also won an Emmy for their "Nurse Jackie" theme.

I especially loved how "my wife, Laura and little girl Hayden (sp)," just seemed to come out so naturally....

She so deserved to win and she looked absolutely gorgeous.

And, of course, there was Neil Patrick Harris last week in the "creative arts" emmys.

Someone I know was a huge Sue Sylvester fan - until he heard that she thanked her wife in her acceptance speech. I referred to him as my friend up until that point. And I'm so glad Lynch can still be a great, successful actress when there are assholes like him around.
