Bilerico Project and CREDO Mobile have teamed up to give Projectors a way to help get DADT repeal passed. Click on over, fill out your information, and we'll send a fax to both of your senators asking them to support the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. It's free, easy to use, and we're already at 44% of our goal of finding 500 people to send faxes. repeal_dadt_200.gifLet's blow past that goal like we did when we were fundraising for marriage equality!

In related DADT news, Lady Gaga announced yesterday that she would be holding a free rally in Portland, Maine in cooperation with Servicemembers Legal Defense Network to urge Senators Snowe and Collins to vote in favor of repeal. The two moderate Republicans will be needed to break Sen John McCain's threatened filibuster.

How can you help? First, no matter where you live, send a fax to your Senator today - even if you think/know they already support repeal. After all, nothing makes it easier for a politician to do something than "my constituents support it." Second, if you're in the area, go to the Gaga/SLDN rally and show some support. If nothing else you'll probably get to hear Gaga drop a tune or two and you'll help send a message to two Senators we're going to need this week.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled the vote for 2:15pm tomorrow afternoon so it's time to get off our butts and make this happen. Send your free faxes to your senators now!

Wow - that was so easy. It took about two mins to fill out the form and share with my online community on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks Bilerico and Credo!

Aubrey Sarvis, a leader in the movement to repeal “Don't Ask, Don't Tell,” says the votes to break Senator John McCain's threatened DADT repeal filibuster on Tuesday are not there.

Even with Snowe and Collins, we're two votes short of blocking the filibuster. But, I appreciate Aubrey's honesty.

Enough has been said about the silly idea that calls, faxes and emails will change a Senators mind. Constituents should be the target because until you change their minds, the Senator's vote is fixed.

Keep on them! You know when they've got the message when they write back "oh, you again" on email....

So mine has the message. I'm hoping they'll DO something positive so I can stop bugging them.

Thanks for the link. Just sent the fax.
