In a new segment last week, Oprah Winfrey revisited a town that shunned an HIV positive man for using the public pool in 1987. The episode haunts me to this day.

Thank goodness for the healing balm of the National Minority AIDS Council, who released this informative, upbeat public service announcement as part of the recent United States Conference on AIDS (USCA) in Orlando. Enjoy!

And yeah, I have a little cameo. Don't blink. For more coverage of USCA, please visit my blog, "My Fabulous Disease."

As uplifting and charming as you promised, Mark!
And so important:
Right now, the population with the fastest growing rate of new HIV infection is African-American women. It is believed that much of cause of this epidemic is the down low culture - boyfriends and husbands who don't identify as gay yet engage in unprotected intercourse with other men and then engage in unprotected intercourse with their female partners.

I bring zero judgment to this phenomenon, and I know that zero judgment and lots and lots of education, empathy, and good medical practice is crucial to stop this trend, which is hurting so many women and men.

PSAs like this can help.
And I saw you just fine, cutie.
