I haven't been following the midterms as closely as I did the presidential election two years ago or even the midterms four years ago. I'll fully cop to being one of those unenthusiastic left-leaning voters this time around, and not just because of the Democrats in Congress but also because of the candidates on the ballot. Even Republicans being run in other states would be better than this group of clowns, all to the right of Rush Limbaugh, with the exception of the Democratic US Senate candidate, Brad Ellsworth, who may just have a quibble with Dick Cheney at their next tea party.
Anyway, this segment from Stephen Colbert last night was one of the first times I saw someone in anything that resembles mainstream media talking about something I've posted about here on Bilerico for a long time: the Republicans think they can win elections if they reduce them all down to a penis size competition. Whip it out and grab a ruler; at least I'd save postage on absentee ballots.
