My Seester

My sister, my most wonderful seester, who I loved so much, died Tuesday morning at 10:30am, with me holding one hand, stroking her head, and my sister in law holding her other.

It's a long story, as everything with my sister always was. I am exhausted an cannot tell it now.

Just know, because it makes my heart calm, that she was not alone.

Note from Bil: Sara has bravely shared her sister's struggles with cancer for over a year with our readers, but she didn't submit this one to the queue; I lifted it from her personal blog. Knowing how many Projectors love Sara and have followed her family's fight, I crossposted it here just because I know how many of you will send her much needed love and compassion. Our deepest condolences go out to Sara and her family during this difficult time.

Please allow me to offer condolences.

I sat with my grandfather while he passed. It was a painful privilege and I think of him often.

Sara, thank you for at least sharing a little piece of her with us. You were lucky to have had her in your life for as long as you did and she was lucky to have been so loved by her sister.

I am so, so sorry, Sara. That just totally sucks; and the timing is pretty sucky, too. I'm sure it meant the world to her that you were there. Please take care of yourself now.

I only know of you and your sister through this blog, but your writing has always been so evocative that your whole family came alive for me.

My condolences. I feel how special she was.
My very beloved Dad died three weeks ago and it made me feel good that he too was not alone.

You loved your sister and she knew your love.
To be loved once truly in life is a gift... to be loved at the end, is the closest we come to heaven on this earth.

My deepest condolences to and your family.

(HUGS) to you and your family. You have my most heartfelt condolences.

Words are inadequate but must be said. I admire your love, your strength, your openness and your rugged honesty, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Happy to help if I can.

Sarah I truly understand your loss a little over two years ago I went through the same thing with the loss of my brother.May your sister rest in peace and best wishes to you in moving forward from this.

You blessed us with writing about her, sharing her with us, and her struggle with a cruel disease.
So much less cruel for the loving sister she had in you.
Blessed in loving each other...may your days still be filled with peace at knowing this... that the end of her days, had her hand in yours.

You were the best of sisters, Sara.

Sara, my sympathy, my condolences and my prayers and wishes for a healing peace for your family.

I still find myself occasionally making asides(remarks) to my now long-dead younger brother who I love dearly; it is too soon to do so to my wife without breaking down.

Peace again, Sara, and my thoughts are with you
