Trevor Thomas, Communication Director for SLDN, announced yesterday that he would be leaving Trevor-Thomas.JPGhis position with the group in late January. Thomas also worked for HRC's communications staff but left the group over a difference in opinion over the direction the org should be going.

Thomas will be joining Kerry Eleveld and Richard Socarides at the Media Matters spinoff, Equality Matters. He will be the Director of Programs.

I wanted to take a moment to point out that Thomas led what has to be one of the most successful media strategies in modern queer history. His calm hand at the wheel kept reporters and servicemembers up to date with the latest DADT happenings while still pushing the group's agenda. He dealt with a bajillion changes in the fate of DADT repeal, a communications worker's nightmare scenario, and kept right on plugging away.

He is a true professional and I look forward to working with him in his new position at Equality Matters.
